On April 26, 2024, the Board of Regents of the 探花社区 System named Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. as the ninth President of the 探花社区 System. Dr. Gold will start on July 1, 2024.
The 探花社区 is the state's only public university and has served Nebraskans through teaching, research and engagement for over 150 years. The university's four campuses—including a leading Big Ten flagship campus in Lincoln, a metropolitan campus in Omaha, an undergraduate-focused campus in Kearney and an academic health science center—are home to a student body of nearly 50,000 and a workforce of 16,000 faculty and staff.
