Dear NU Faculty, Staff and Students,
We want to address the uncertainty surrounding recent federal executive orders, as well as potential state and federal legislation and the state budget, and their possible impact on the 探花社区. We recognize that these developments have raised questions and concerns, particularly about how they might affect our funding, research, and the important work we do every day. While the full scope of these orders and proposed legislative changes continues to unfold, we want to assure you that we are carefully monitoring these issues and taking proactive steps to support our mission and our community.
Your contributions to research, education, and public service are vital to Nebraska and beyond. That’s why we are actively working with lawmakers at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure they understand the significance of our work and the potential consequences these changes may bring. Advocacy remains a priority, and we are committed to conveying the value of what we do and how it benefits the communities we serve.
We know that times of uncertainty can be stressful, particularly for those whose work relies on federal funding or may be affected by new policies or laws. Please know that we are here to support you and are dedicated to keeping you informed. To that end:
- We are carefully analyzing all executive orders, proposed legislation, and their potential impacts on our students, faculty, staff, and programs.
- We will continue to provide updates through university communication channels as we receive guidance from the relevant federal agencies and legislative bodies to ensure you have the latest information.
- To learn more about becoming an advocate or engaging with elected officials as a private citizen, we encourage you to explore the NU Advocates Program and other opportunities for involvement. If members of the 探花社区 community would like to advocate for the critical work we do, please do so in consistence with the guidance shared with each of your campus communities.
Finally, we want to thank you for your resilience and dedication. Together, we will navigate these uncertainties while staying true to our mission and core values. Please know that the 探花社区 remains steadfast in our commitment to you and the communities we serve.
Thank you for all that you do. We will be sure to keep you informed as we move forward together.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
